Status of Kishau Project (4X165=660 MW)
- IInd Board meeting of Kishau held on 21.09.2020 under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, GoHP at Dehradun.
- Kishau project is a storage scheme on river Tons in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand & Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, which will provide1324 MCM live storage of water to irrigate 97076 ha land and 617 MCM water for drinking/Industrial use. In addition, 1379 MU (approx.) shall be the power generated from 660 MW Hydroelectric Project which is incidental.
- The project has been declared as National Project in 2008.The financial assistance would be provided to the extent of 90% of the cost of water component as grant assistance by GoI.
- Sharing of water and Irrigation benefits among Yamuna Basin States presently is as per MoU of 1994 which is to be finalised by CWC/MoWR.
- Revised DPR was submitted to CWC on 15.10.2010.
- GoU formally allotted the Project to UJVN Limited on 06.06.2011.
- UJVN Limited had applied for providing T.O.R. for conducting EIA/EMP studies on 15.10.2013. Director (IA), MoEF, GoI had been requested again for issue of TOR for EIA/EMP studies of the Project on 28.04.2015.
- MoU was signed between Govt. Of Himachal Pradesh and Govt. Of Uttarakhand for Joint Venture formation on 20.06.2015.
- Memorandum of Association (MoA) and Article of Association (AoA) were approved by Government of Himachal Pradesh and Government of Uttarakhand in Jun-2016 and Aug-2016 respectively.
- The Joint Venture Company (Special Purpose Vehicle) for execution of Kishau Multipurpose Project was incorporated on dated 16.01.2017 under the company Act 2013 having CIN U7999UR2017SGC007521 with the registered name “Kishau Corporation Limited” and H.Q. at Dakpathar, Distt. Dehradun.
- Meeting of Ist Directors of the Kishau Corporation Limited was held on 14.02.2017 at Dehradun.
- Apportionment of cost between power component and water component has been approved by CWC in October 2018, in which project cost has been taken Rs.11550 crore at March, 2018 PL.
- Approval for signing of “Inter-state agreement for the construction of the Kishau Multipurpose Projects in Upper Yamuna Basin” among beneficiary States is under progress.
